St Peter’s College once again entered the South Australian French Teacher’s Association Poetry Recital competition, ‘La Poésie Récitée’. We entered students in the R/I, 2/3 and 6/7 categories.
The Reception/Year 1 poem was called, ‘As – tu froid?’ (Are you cold?), the Year 2 poem was entitled, ‘Trotte petit cheval’ (Trot little horse). There was a choice for the 6/7 category, either ‘Chanson pour les enfants l’hiver’ by Jacques Prévert or “Les deux sorcières” by Corinne Albaut.
The students worked very hard to memorise these poems and delivered them with wonderful pronunciation and intonation.
Congratulations to Freddie S. from Year 1J who was the 2017 winner of the R/1 category and to Will B. of Year 7 from Mme Spiby’s French class who was the winner of the 6/7 category. Both Will and Freddie will be asked to recite their poems at the SAFTA Prize Giving Evening to be held in October. The boys will be presented with a certificate and prize on the night.
Well done to all the St Peter’s College students who entered this state-wide competition and congratulations once again to Freddie and Will.
