It is with great pleasure that I can confirm that Angela Norman, Junior School teacher, has been awarded Apple Distinguished Educator status.

Becoming an Apple Distinguished Educator is both a sought-after and challenging prospect. The opportunity only arises once every two years and the process is both rigorous and competitive. Apple select only teachers who demonstrate excellence in using technology to enrich the learning of their students. This year, only three teachers were awarded ADE status in South Australia, proving that Angela is among the very best at integrating technology into teaching and learning.

This is a well-deserved accolade for Angela. She has led the way in the meaningful and creative integration of iPads in Year 1 and Year 2 classrooms, and has even published two cutting-edge educational textbooks on the iBookstore.

As a result of her award, Angela will be invited to join a community of fellow Apple Distinguished Educators from the Asia-Pacific region, starting with a professional learning summit later this year.

Since 2013, four St Peter’s College teachers have become Apple Distinguished Educators whilst on staff – an unusually high cluster. I congratulate Angela on her achievement, and look forward to supporting future applicants as they demonstrate the high standards of technology integration here at St Peter’s College.
